Country of Origin
The country where the goods were manufactured and first shipped from.

Cross Docking
Goods received at the warehouse or distribution center do not go into inventory but are consolidated or set aside for reshipment.

Cross Sell
To sell related or complementary products or services to a customer.

Cross Shipment
Goods are shipped to a customer from a secondary shipping point rather than from the primary shipping point.

Crossdock
Goods received at the warehouse or distribution center are immediately transferred to other trucks or containers for reshipment.

Cubage
The volume of space, usually expressed in cubic meters or cubic feet, that is used or available for shipping or storage.

Cube Out
The situation when a container, trailer, or vessel reaches its volumetric capacity before reaching the permitted weight limit.

Cube Utilization
The percentage of storage space used in a container, trailer, vessel or warehouse. Divide the volume of goods stored by the total available storage volume.

Cubic Capacity
The carrying capacity of a contrainer, trailer, or vessel or the storage capacity of a warehouse according to measurement in cubic feet.

Cubic Space
The space available or required for transportation and storage.

Cumulative Lead Time
The total time to source components, build a product, and ship it.

Cumulative Source/Make Cycle Time
The total time to manufacture shippable product, assuming no inventory on hand, no materials or parts on order, and no prior forecasts existing with suppliers.

Currency Adjustment Factor (CAF)
A surcharge imposed by a carrier on an international shipment to offset foreign currency fluctuations. Varies according to the type of cargo and locations.

The person or business to whom the products and services are sold.

Customer Acquisition or Retention
Rate at which new customers are acquired or existing customers are retained. Acquition is more expensive but helps long-term growth. Retention helps ROI.

Customer Driven
The degree to which the end user, or customer, motivates what is produced or how it is delivered.

Customer Facing
Personnel whose roles require contact with customers. Also, the way a business service feature is experienced or seen by customers.
